LEGOLAND Windsor has unveiled the first Mythica Creature set to inhabit the new World of Mythical Creatures Land.
Out of the 13 models to be created we got our first look at Chimera.
With 12 model makers spending a total of 653 hours to assemble out of 109,522 bricks the Chimera was born.
A creature that takes inspiration from Greek mythology consisting of four different heads (snake, shark, eagle and lion).
This is the first we’ve seen of the brand new Mythica land and our first glimpse at what we can expect from this new expansion as these creatures inhabit the new space.
Take a look at the first Mythica creature being constructed in this time-lapse video below posted by the park on their official YouTube page.
Mythical: World of Mythical Creatures is the parks single biggest investment since the theme park opened 25 years ago.
With the inclusion of the UK’s first flying theatre LEGOLAND Windsor is certainly a park to keep your eye on when restrictions ease later this year.
Marketing Director at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort Marianne McGoldrick said:
“It’s been an amazing experience to watch the team build such a diverse set of large-scale LEGO models which have been inspired by the imaginations of children,”
Each mythical character is so unique and like nothing else we’ve ever featured at LEGOLAND Windsor before.
“It takes our model makers many hours to intricately turn thousands of different sized and coloured LEGO bricks into these incredible models, and we can’t wait for families to meet the Chimera and learn more about its role in the story of LEGO MYTHICA when the land opens later this year.”
Not long after this first creature was unveiled another creature soon followed.

Known as the ‘Mouse Butterfly’ this unusual combo was made from 10,717 bricks but there was no more information on how long the model took to build.
There’s definitely some weird animal fusions going on here which makes me all the more excited about what guests will experience within that flying theatre!
