More Alton Towers Mardi Gras food and entertainment details were revealed today as the resort updated their website ahead of the event taking place in two weeks time!
From May 22nd until June 20th Mardi Gras at Alton Towers will be the first event of its kind at the Staffordshire based theme park.
Celebrate the summer vibe with a carnival inspired takeover exploding with colour, sounds, high energy entertainment and a tastebud explosion!
Every day the park will be transformed into a street party with street performers providing some feel-good entertainment.
Each themed are of the park will be represented by its very own characters (known as Krewe) with its own static parade float.
The Krewe will be taking to the streets for live colourful entertainment representing each area in which they reside.
In addition to the parades and entertainment that Mardi Gras will bring we all know that Mardi Gras brings along with it food from across the world and Alton Towers have got us covered!
Alton Towers Mardi Gras Food
With numerous stalls coming to Alton Towers from Greek food to Chinese street food we’ve got all the stalls right here that look set to be arriving at the park for the event.
I rather like the look of that Pizza van and the thought of having a classic Yorkshire pudding as a wrap, my mouth is salivating at the thought!
I wasn’t a big fan of the Oktoberfest food personally other than the bratwurst, the £8 sauerkraut over cheap nacho cheese and soggy chips put me off my dinner, tea and my breakfast the next morning.
But this line-up certainly looks to be a step up in range and quality!
I can’t wait to try absolutely everything and i’ll make sure to visit as much as possible to sample absolutely everything on the menu at every stall!
Alton Towers Mardi Gras King and Queen

Each morning, a carnival King and Queen will be chosen from amongst the guests and crowned during a lavish masquerade ceremony on Towers Street.
Once anointed, the King and Queen will be treated like VIPs for the entire day, so guests are encouraged to don lots of sparkles, beads, and colour, the brighter the better for the chance to be noticed and chosen!
Chris Carter, head of entertainment, said:
“Mardi Gras is celebrated around the world and it invites people from all communities to come together to enjoy music, entertainment, delicious food, parades and parties.
“We are really excited to be hosting our first ever Mardi Gras inspired takeover at Alton Towers Resort – the core of Mardi Gras worldwide is about bringing people together and celebrating your local community, which is something we are really keen to tap into.
We’ve got an incredible line-up of live entertainment, each themed area of the park will be represented by its own Krewe, and every day we will be crowning carnival Kings and Queens in a lavish masquerade ceremony, which we’re sure our guests will love.”
Mardi Gras is the first in a series of thrilliant festivities this season to celebrate unforgettable adventures, spending time with friends and family, and making memories together at Britain’s greatest escape.
