When the AquaMouse Disney Wish ride was announced with the slogan ‘A Disney Attraction At Sea’ it had fans puzzled.
Disney Cruise Line already has a host of on-ride water slides and attractions, aren’t they Disney?
Well, let me clear the confusion up for you all.
The AquaMouse will be an experience not too dissimilar from the rides that Disney operates at its theme park.
Where the AquaDunk and the AquaDuck attractions onboard the Disney cruise fleet are water attractions there’s nothing different about them than that of any ordinarily manufactured slide.
This is where AquaMouse steps in.
AquaMouse on the Disney Wish will contain a story, theming, lighting, effects and more as you become immersed in a Disney theme park quality attraction at sea.
AquaMouse Ride Details

The attraction will stand 760 feet across the deck of the ship.
The ride will be themed around a short called Scuba Scramble where Mickey and Minnie have set up an excursion company called Port Misadventures and you’re the first to be invited along.
But things aren’t all smooth sailing.
The ride will contain show scenes, lighting, special effects and some splashtacular surprises and will be the first of its kind.
You will begin your journey on a two-seater ride vehicle and ascend into a tunnel where the animated short will take place, watching the short play out as you reach the top of the ride.
You’ll encounter curious sea creatures and some familiar Disney friends.
More than 60 water effects are being used to bring the AquaMouse to life and will all be synchronised to an original musical score by Emmy-nominated composer Christopher Willis (The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse).
Guests will then blast out of the tunnel and begin their journey around the upper decks of the ship flying through the forward funnel of the ship which has a purpose-built tunnel straight through it complete with lighting effects.
You’ll then make your way across a series of speed blasters as you fly towards the grand finale: a soaring loop over the edge of the ship.
Overall
Whitewater West are the manufacturers of both the AquaDunk and AquaDuck attractions on the Disney Cruise Line ships but it is not known if they will be behind AquaMouse also although it is likely.
To have a theme park style attraction at sea is such a wonderful prospect and it certainly fits the ethos of Disney wanting to make the Disney Wish the Disney Castle at sea, the jewel in their crown.
I for one absolutely cannot wait to see how the development of this unique ride goes.
That’s not forgetting the incredible Stateroom and Restaurant updates onboard the Disney Wish too.
I very much look forward to what’s in store for the Disney Wish throughout the rest of the year ready for its 2022 Summer maiden voyage.
It’s a project I’ll certainly be keeping a close eye on!
