Shipwrecked at Blackgang Chine collapses this week as guests were left terrified by this incident on Monday afternoon.

Many news outlets get carried away when it comes to rollercoaster breakdowns and usually routine stops/evacuations that are part and parcel of the health and safety procedures that theme parks adhere to but this one is legitimately a scary one!

The Shipwrecked flying carpet ride at the UK’s oldest theme park Blackgang Chine suddenly smashed to the ground when it reached its highest point this week.

Families with children of all ages were trying to clamber free from the ride after it tipped onto its side suddenly causing panic.

Screams were heard from the ride and two men were taken to hospital with leg and shoulder injuries but thankfully no injuries reported were serious.

The 179-year-old amusement park first opened in 1843 and the park took to social media to release the following statement.

Here at Blackgang Chine we experienced an incident with our Shipwrecked ride this afternoon (Monday 08/08/2022).

Our team have quickly responded to the incident and all guests were quickly and safely evacuated. Please keep an eye on our website for more info.

Footage of the incident quickly spread on social media.
