A brand new Blackpool Merlin attraction is opening this year in Blackpool beneath the Sea Life aquarium.
Merlin Entertainments has submitted a revised planning application for a new £2.3m attraction in the council-owned Golden Mile Centre on Blackpool’s promenade.
The original plans were revealed in 2021 and approved in May 2022 but the plan has been revised that involves converting the space beneath the Sea Life aquarium into this new Merlin addition to its already large presence in Blackpool.
Merlin confirms that it will be another IP-led attraction and they’re in the middle of finalising details before making an official announcement.
The attraction will be open in the first half of 2023 and will continue to expand its expansive presence in Blackpool.
Sea Life, Madame Tussuads, Blackpool Tower Eye, Blackpool Dungeons and the recently aquired Sandcastle Water Park are all Merlin owned properties.
Their family attractions are growing all the time and even the brand new Peter Rabbit: Explore and Play was added by Merlin in Februrary 2022.
Merlin promises to provide good value for money with this new Blackpool Merlin attraction and we’ll update you all with more information as soon as we recieve it.
Investing in a Merlin annual pass is the best advice I could give anyone as you could potentially have a whole day included in your pass with currently four attractions to experience.
As of writing this post both Sandcastle Water Park and the Peter Rabbit attraction are not included in the Merlin Annual Pass but I’m sure that will change in the future.
