We sat down with the Creative Lead of Merlin Entertainments John Burton to discuss the brand new World of Jumanji area at Chessington World of Adventures in this World of Jumanji interview.
After a behind-the-scenes look at The World of Jumanji, we headed back to the Chessington Hotel to sit down with John to discuss this brand-new development at the resort. We also focus on Mandrill Mayhem, the first rollercoaster to arrive at the park since 2014!
From concept to finalisation John discusses how a project like this lands on his desk. He also discusses the steps behind it to take the project to final realisation.
We also discuss the World’s ONLY Jumanji rollercoaster, Mandrill Mayhem. This ride marks the first rollercoaster at the resort since 2014!
The ride will sweep up riders in the long arms of a mandrill, as the horde whisks those from just 1.2m tall around the sites of Jumanji, all while dodging the hazards of the jungle.
The ride will take guests around a 55ft tall Jaguar Shrine. The Jaguar’s eye jewel will glow, sound effects blare out and guests will go through the layout backwards.
Stampede Chase and Mamba Strike will form the two flat rides to compliment the area along with foliage, interactive points, maps for children and even a Bazaar market for people to stroll through and interact with a variety of themed games.
All games and interactions within the World of Jumanji will be themed around the original film and remakes.
