After much rumour and speculation that we’ve posted over the last few months on our YouTube page today marks the day of official confirmation as Amanda Thompson herself has announced that Pleasure Beach is planning a third hotel.
With the classic warm tones of the Big Blue to the cool and luxurious tones of the Boulevard Hotel a third hotel to add to the Pleasure Beach Resort line-up as confirmed on The World Beyond podcast hosted in Europa Park this week.
Amanda Thompson said that early planning stages are underway for a third hotel that will be located around the White Tower building which further reinforces the rumour of a hotel that will provide an entry facade to the Pleasure Beach.
Rumours have been swirling about the removal of The Globe Theatre and this would make sense with the addition of this new hotel.
Amanda also went on to discuss holiday apartments which she already has approval to build adjacent to the Boulevard Hotel. These apartments would allow families and pets to stay at Pleasure Beach and the tones of the apartments would match that of the Boulevard hotel.
She said the council has told her she needs to plant 60 trees for the apartments to go ahead which is quite the task given the fact that salty sea breeze and plants don’t mix all too well.
Amanda also said that providing funding for both the apartments and the third hotel is in the works.
With a new coaster also in the works at Pleasure Beach Resort could we get a coaster that flies past the entrance of the park and wraps around the park itself providing a very cool entrance piece indeed (if Ice Blast is set to leave the park at the end of the year).
Whatever happens I feel that another hotel is a great move for Pleasure Beach, with the sophistication of The Boulevard Hotel and the classic charm of Big Blue they need this third instalment to be the fun hotel, the hotel that celebrates not just the Pleasure Beach but Blackpool itself.
They could do something rather special with this one and step out of that contemporary Blackpool hotel aesthetic and embrace the culture, charm and magic of what makes Blackpool so special.
It would stand out head and shoulders above the rest with a quirky charm and if anyone can do it, Pleasure Beach can!
