Pleasure Beach Resort adds two new attractions in Halloween overhaul as this year’s Journey to Hell offers its biggest line-up ever for its October event.
Two brand new attractions are coming to the park’s annual Journey to Hell event as there’s been a revamp of the structure along with triple the amount of rides available as for the first time instead of one shots on a handful of rides the park is opening nine rides with unlimited riding options available.
I’m not entirely sure Valhalla is a good idea in cold weather but if it’s open you just know I’ll be going on it and regretting it IMMEDIATELY!
The north of the park will also be transformed into a haunted ride area with roaming actors and live entertainment along with themed cocktails and dining.

An Alice and Wonderland-themed ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ scare zone and a ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ attraction are also being added for this year.
Down the Rabbit Hole will see the park’s usually beloved Alice in Wonderland ride transformed into a nightmarish world where Alice and their friends have gone insane. Grotesque figures will be lurking around every corner hoping to terrify unsuspecting guests into madness.
Cabinet of Curiosities is the lair of a macabre collector and home to the inexplicable and the bizarre. Each gruesome creature is more disturbing than the last and guests will have to flee through a maze of horrors.

Pleasure Beach Resort announced a major investment into on-park entertainment at the start of the 2024 season which has seen this event revamped for 2024.
For me, the event hasn’t ever been strong and has been very tame in terms of effort made with it always being one of the weaker events in any given Halloween event calender year.
I’m curious to see how the investment has been made within the attraction but having more rides open, whilst great, certainly feels as though the event is relying more on its incredible rides than actually creating a good Halloween scare event or similar but that’s just my personal opinion.
If all of the rides had quirky/unique spooky elements to each one I’d certainly be impressed/intrigued in equal measure but here’s what we know about the other attractions so far.

The Ghost Train: Vault of Shadows will return for its second year. The world’s first Ghost Train is notoriously one of the most haunted attractions in the world, said to be haunted by ‘Cloggy’, a former ride operator whose footsteps can still be heard. Journey to Hell will see malevolent spirits hiding in the shadows, and Pleasure Beach says there will be far more than the Ghost Train’s creepy animatronics to fear.
Many aren’t aware, but hidden below Pleasure Beach Resort is a 100-year-old network of tunnels used to travel between rides. This will become home to the fourth live-action scare zone, Twisted Tunnels. Guests will discover they are not alone as they navigate the winding, Victorian-esque passageways beneath the disembodied noises of the theme park above.
In the day the park will undergo a spooky family friendly vibe with activities for the whole family throughout the month of October. Spooky guests will roam the park and guests can visit the Halloween Hub to enter fancy dress competitions.

CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort, Amanda Thompson OBE, said:
This year, Journey to Hell is bigger and more frightening than ever with two brand new scare zones. After the success of our zone inside the Ghost Train last year, we’ve turned another fan-favourite ride into a terrifying live action area and it promises to be one of our creepiest yet.
We’ve tripled the rides available and added ride-theming for a more immersive experience. Even the rides that aren’t classed as one of our scare zones will have roaming actors and entertainment close by to create a truly terrifying night.
Add that to our own eerie history here at Pleasure Beach Resort and it’s a Halloween event not to be missed.
Journey to Hell: Freak Nights take place on selected dates from October 11 to October 31, 7pm until 10pm.
Tickets start at £39.50 and can be bought online at www.pleasurebeachresort.com/events/journey-to-hell
