Voltron Nevera Wins TEA Thea Award

TEA Thea Award

Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac absolutely blew the definition of thrill coaster out of the water when it debuted back in 2024 and today the multi-launch coaster has been awarded the TEA Thea Award by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).

Awarded for outstanding achievements in the attractions category this prestigious award is one of the highest accolades in the amusements industry and was on this occasion given to the Mack family at the Thea Award Gala in Los Angeles.

Europa-Park thereby joins the ranks as the first European theme park, alongside Disney and Universal, of a renowned group. Up to now, only two other rollercoasters have been given the coveted Thea Award worldwide, with these now including the Voltron Nevera.

Michael Mack, Managing Director of Europa-Park said:

“We’re extremely pleased about the TEA Thea Award for the Voltron Nevera. Rollercoasters receive this honour only very rarely. This underlines how unique, innovative and exciting the rollercoaster is and, to us, confirms the commitment of all the involved business departments in the MACK Group to this extraordinary attraction,”

Europa-Park owner, Roland Mack said:

“This award proves yet again that, with Europa-Park, we’re setting standards around the world. Voltron Nevera stands for what Europa-Park, for 50 years, has been known for: An incomparable blend of creativity, quality and passion”.

With the Voltron Nevera, the overall experience particularly impressed the jury – from the storytelling to the tone-setting up to the coaster itself. It offers such numerous innovative ride elements as, for example, the steepest launch in the world at 105 degrees, as well as fascinating stories.

The 1,385-metre-length multi-launch coaster meanders through an authentic Croatian landscape. Light limestone, ruins and pieces of wall, as well as a number of plants, one of which is also an 800-year-old olive tree make for a Mediterranean flair.

The history surrounding the scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla, born in what is now Croatia, who, with the help of the legendary Adventure Club of Europe, rang the electric age in, is a common thread running through the attraction and theme area.

The Stryker coaster (Voltron was the first of its kind) certainly perked up the ears of many theme parks worldwide and what a ride it is too instantly jumping to one of the best coasters I’ve ever ridden.

Check out the POV we captured on Voltron’s press day below and congratulations to Europa-Park on their TEA Thea Award!
