Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is set for a brand new world-record-breaking roller coaster, yes ANOTHER one!
CEO of Miral Mohamed Al Zaabi is a man of few words during the brief interactions I’ve had with him over the years so when he releases a statement or announcement of any kind I’m wholly invested in what he has to say and this one was exciting indeed.
Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, currently home to the world’s fastest roller coaster Formula Rossa is set to open a brand new record-breaking roller coaster that will break four coaster records worldwide and more news will be revealed very soon.
The announcement was made to reporters at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai and comes after a very successful year for Yas Island where the theme park resides as more than 38 million visitors came in 2024 a 10% increase on the year before with a 20% growth in theme park visits.
Yas Island hotels reached 82% occupancy throughout the year and there are some incredible ones including the Warner Bros hotel which we covered on our YouTube page.
This very same hotel also has plans to be expanded as Miral looks to expand hotel rooms across Yas Island by at least 30%.
Now the roller coaster itself is a puzzling one because Falcon’s Flight currently testing in Saudi Arabia will have the world’s longest, fastest and tallest titles all to itself when it opens later this year (rumoured) so what four world records could this new coaster possibly have?
Will they one-up Falcons or take one of their titles? We shall just have to wait and see but it doesn’t sound like it’ll be too long until we find out.
More news that came out of the travel market including the incredible Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi will also receive new attractions including DC attractions and a brand new Harry Potter land along with two signature rides, although the location of the two rides is currently unknown.
Rumours are that the Harry Potter land will contain one (or maybe even two) roller coasters with Intamin being heavily linked as the manufacturer behind this indoor-themed Potter attraction.
Mr Al Zaabi said that work was moving “at the right pace” on the Harry Potter themed attraction which is a puzzling statement to make as there has been no extension to the Warner Bros building whatsoever despite there being a lot of room to do so, maybe a land within the attraction is being replaced to make way for Harry Potter?
I’m sure all will be revealed in due course.
If that wasn’t all phase two of the Yas Waterworld expansion will open this summer including 12 new rides and experiences and the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi is on track for completion by the end of the year but no opening date was revealed.
Visitors have a lot to look forward to including the Zayed National Museum and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi also on track for completion.
Yas Island is growing at a rapid rate as demand from tourists also keeps growing.
For those who haven’t been yet, I highly recommend it, it’s a phenomenal place with so much to see and do and some of the best attractions near one another that you’ll find anywhere in the world.
You only have to check out some of the videos within this article as proof of that!
The future of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Island as a whole is looking bright, now roll on that Harry Potter land already, it was first announced back in 2023!
Chop, chop!
