Disneyland Expansion Plans Include New Coco Attraction

Disneyland have recently announced future expansion plans including a new transportation hub, new Coco attraction details and more location details have been revealed for the upcoming Avatar experience.

Disneyland Transportation Hub

Diving straight into the transportation announcement it seems plans are underway for a new parking structure and transportation hub that will be built on the east side of Disneyland Resort.

This new area will house 6000 parking spaces, shuttle and ride share areas not to mention security screening and dedicated access for traffic off of Disney way, improving parking and traffic flow throughout the resort area.

The area will also feature a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard.

Infrastructure such as this new needed to prepare for future growth which will include two all-new attractions that will double the size of Avengers Campus in addition to the new Coco themed-ride which I’m very excited for in addition to Avatar Destination coming to Disney California Adventure.

Construction for this new hub will begin in the fall of 2026.

Coco Attraction Disneyland

A brand new Coco attraction will be built near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier as an official location was finally announced recently.

Originally areas that are predominantly backstage today will be open to house this very exciting Coco attraction that I was hoping and praying would be built at EPCOT over at Walt Disney World too as the Mexico pavilion is crying out for a ride like this!

Construction is set to begin backstage this fall!

Avatar Experience

Avatar Experience

Avatar is coming to Disneyland as a portion of the current Hollywood Backlot area will become the brand new Avatar destination in Disney California Adventure.

This project is still in the early stages of development and additional details will be revealed later in the future as other than the concept art above no further details have been announced.

Monsters Inc Mike & Sullen to the Rescue will close in early 2026 to make way for this new experience but Disneyland have teased that this is just the beginning of exciting growth at Disneyland Resort as more details are soon on their way for plenty more projects in the future!

These Disneyland expansion plans are certainly exciting times for the future of the resort.
