Standing at 51m and consisting of a mix of mobile gondolas (16) and fixed gondolas (8) Time Rider has officially opened at Gyeongju World as Intamin shows off it’s wonderful coaster wheel design.
Time Rider is officially the world’s tallest coaster wheel and marks South Korea’s first ever coaster wheel becoming only the 5th wheel to be constructed worldwide.
What makes the coaster wheel so fun is the fact that it has two ride experiences built into one, if you’re feeling brave you can embrace the mobile gondolas which move you around the wheelon a track inspired by Intamin’s Roller Coasters, and they move with gravity asthe wheel rotates, creating the sensation that the gondola is detaching from the structure or you can have a nice relaxing ride and choose a fixed gondola and take in the views.

The wheel looks stunning standing at 164ft and really stands out within the park, with a lighting package the ride (to me) looks even better at night time and really stands out and looks the part.
An absolutely stunning looking wheel but it would take a miracle for me to openly choose to go on the mobile gondolas, that experience looks very VERY intense indeed and with me already not being a fan of ferris wheels I rather like the feeling of being attached to something whereas the mobile gondolas don’t have that option…
Will I be going to Gyeongju World anytime soon? Probably not but I will pluck up the courage to ride one of these coaster wheels one day!
