ZipWorld To Install A Liverpool Zip Line Through the City Centre

Liverpool Zip Line

A Liverpool Zip Line throught the City Centre has been given planning permission and will aim to be open by next summer!

Adventure firm Zip World has secured planning permission for the attraction that will see thrill seekers soar down from the 140 metre high St John’s Beacon to the historic Liverpool Central Library.

Welcomed by the City this attraction will be the company’s first zip line outside of Wales and will be the fastest urban zip line in the world.

The council’s planning committee gave it the green light this morning.

Some councellors were worried that it would be disrespectful to nearby memorials but Zip World founder Sean Taylor gave assurances over respecting the recognising the heritage assets in that area.

ZipWorld posted the following on social media this afternoon:

We are so excited to announce that we will be coming for you Liverpool!

Today our plans were approved to open ZIP WORLD LIVERPOOL, due to launch summer 2021. Who fancies zip lining off the top of St Johns Beacon?

This will be the first permanent urban zip line in the UK and Europe. The design will see two riders dispatched at a time in a sit-down style harness, travelling across the cityscape.

It’s also set to be a record breaker – as the fastest sit down zip line in the world! We are honoured to be a part of this incredible city.

Next year is going to be an absolutely crazy year for new attractions as the list keeps getting bigger and bigger.

I cannot wait to ride the Liverpool zip line!

Stay tuned for more Zip World Liverpool updates as and when we recieve them!
