Alton Towers Scarefest auditions will be underway shortly as casting advert has been posted ahead of the Halloween event.
Against the hundreds of messages we had saying Scarefest will not be happening this year we stood strong and posted a video as to why it would be going ahead just in a different way.
From Scarefest soundtracks being tested across the park to the Dark Forest Scare Zone rumour and the gardens opening up to the public early to trial throughput and more there was no doubt in my mind that the event would still be going ahead.
But it’ll certainly be an event much different to that we’ve seen before.
Expect to see some popular mazes excluded from this years line-up as the park will be taking a different direction to meet requirements and maintain social distancing and other regulations.
Merlin today posted the job listing on their website recruiting scare actors for ‘brand new scare attractions’ at Alton Towers.
It read as follows:

We are currently recruiting for Scarefest Performers to join us at the Alton Towers Resort, the UK’s only attraction that specialises in making Britain happy!
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to join our outstanding cast to perform in our award winning and brand new Scare Attractions. This year, our product has expanded and we are casting for diverse actors to bring to life character led roles for brand new attractions.
Ask yourself these questions:
Do you thrive on performing within live theatrical attractions?
Do you like working in a fast paced environment?
Are you comfortable interacting with thousands of guests every day?
If you answered yes to these questions then you could be in with a chance of joining the team and enjoy some of the great benefits including a Merlin Magic pass, 25% discount in our retail shops and restaurants, 40% discount online off Lego, and much more!
In order to comply with government guidelines, we are introducing new hygiene and safety measures across the resort. Should you be successful in your application and requested to attend a face to face audition/interview you will be asked to adhere to these measures. These will include but not be limited to; social distancing, non-invasive temperature checks and the use of hand sanitisers. full details can be found on our website.
Whilst details on the new experiences will not be released until closer to the date you can rest assured it’ll be a Scarefest like no other.
With me doing quite well on the rumour mill front lately, doesn’t that promo image look very similar to the old Alton Towers Freak Show scare zone from 2016?
I mean the wheel is EXACTLY the same.
Now that would be a nice feature to return!
