The Making of Castello Dei Medici is a brand new documentary short on the free Europa Park streaming platform VeeJoy.
VeeJoy is run by Europa Park and consists of documentaries, behind-the-scenes footage and more regarding the construction of a variety of rides, films and more from Germany’s biggest theme park.

This streaming platform is an absolute joy for those who are interested in ride design, theming and a whole variety of events that take place within the theme park, the streaming service is free of charge but there are some paid upcharges within the platform for certain pieces of content.
The latest show on the platform is the Making of Castello Dei Medici which saw the park’s longstanding ghost train Geisterschloss have a complete refurb with a new storyline, theme and musical score.
Geisterschloss (roughly translated to Ghost Castle in English) originally opened in 1982 and was the first ride to include Mack’s endless transport system similar to Disney’s Omnimover technology.

The ride spanned two floors and in 2024 it was decided that it would be refurbished after its last refurbishment was many years prior in 1996.
With interviews with the Mack family and designers/creatives behind the project, this seven-minute documentary discusses the ride and the need for change.
Taking previously worn and old animatronics and bringing them up to modern standards is the key focus point of the introduction of the documentary and just further diving into the story of what they want the ride to portray.

A story that revolves around a gentleman who does some unnatural things to gain everlasting life.
As is the case with many VeeJoy productions the product is a well-polished puff piece diving into what makes Europa Park one of the best theme parks in the world but it’s done in such a way that anyone and everyone can enjoy what has been produced.
Europa Park knows how to market their theme park and they’re so proud of what they make every single time and so they should be.
Only this week Europa Park won the Golden Ticket Award for the best theme park in the world along with two other awards and you can read all about that here.
