Betsy’s Burger Stoke on Trent Review

It’s new, it’s popular, it’s Betsy’s Burger Stoke on Trent and after many months we FINALLY managed to head on down and sample the hottest new burger joint in Stoke.

Opening in the city centre this summer Betsy’s Burger is an independent burger joint that absolutely smashes it out of the park when it comes to brand marketing.

Various professionally shot Instagram and social media videos do the rounds on Betsy’s social media pages and they certainly know how to capture their audience with a blend of promotional content and lighthearted viral marketing type content.

Betsy’s is an independent one-of-one shop that markets itself like a chain from the bold branding on the shop exterior to the American-style decor which reminds me of the best burger chain I’ve ever eaten at in my entire life, In N Out.

Betsy's Burger Interior

In N Out makes Five Guys, McDonald’s, Burger King, Burger Preist and all the rest of them look bang average, I’d highly recommend a trip to California to check them out, the best burgers you’ll ever have, ever.

With a full range of burgers, dirty fries, sides, milkshakes and desserts Betsy’s instantly stood out to me when I reached the counter and there wasn’t a Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Fanta or Tango option anywhere to be seen.

Instead Betsy’s offer a range of flavoured sodas from Lemon to Grape and Strawberry. I opted for the Strawberry along with a classic Betsy’s burger which consists of two 2oz beef patties layered with American cheese slices & garnished with onion, fresh lettuce, juicy tomato and Betsy’s famous House sauce.

Betsy's Burger Drinks

For £7.95 (a classic Betsy on its own is £4.95) you can opt to upgrade to a Maxi Meal which includes a burger, side, fries, drink and a chocolate brownie which is great value for money.

The food took around 15 minutes to cook but it’s from scratch, all of it is from scratch so the extra wait for fresher food was absolutely fine with me but if you’re in a rush make sure to give yourself enough time for the food to cook.

It was a midweek stop into the store and every table and chair was taken. A gentleman at the bar had ordered his dinner and even placed an order for his tea to pick up later that evening. The hype was real.

With such an extensive range of burgers on the menu from beef to chicken to fish to vegan there is more than enough selection to come back and sample.

From the Bazooka Burger, Chucky Cheese and Loco Betsy burger to the What The Cluck, Nashville, Big Poppa Sunny and Rockafella burger. It all sounded delicious!

Betsy's Burger

The burger patty was soft and tasty, the homemade Betsy’s sauce was delicious and the chips were rather tasty with a nice pot of spicy sauce that came as part of the Maxi meal (other sauces are available).

The Mac and Cheese bites weren’t really my cup of tea but it was the only side on the menu that I haven’t sampled before from other places so I thought I’d give them a whirl.

My meal concluded with a very small piece of a chocolate brownie but a very tasty piece indeed and for the price you get quite a lot of food and a drink. My drink was insanely sweet to the point where it was a struggle to drink but as I’m getting older my sweet tooth seems to be decaying, I’m sure most people would love it but I think I’ll go for a less sweet option next time.

Whilst it’s no In N Out burger Betsy’s was absolutely one of the best burgers I’ve had in the UK beating many of the aforementioned big chains.

Betsy's Burger Decor

It’s actually nicer than a large portion of McDonald’s menu which is the biggest compliment I can give them as I absolutely love that place!

Betsy’s is making a statement, with great brand marketing, lovely staff members and a busy bustling diner atmosphere. They’re certainly the burger joint on everyone’s lips at the moment and long may it continue.

Betsy’s also offers a takeout service so you can chill at home and have goodies delivered right to your door!
