Manchester Tinsel Town 2022 Review

Tinsel Town Manchester

Tinsel Town is back at The Trafford Centre this Christmas and we went back to check out the event to bring you this Manchester Tinsel Town 2022 review.

Tinsel Town is located outside the Great Hall (food court to you and me) and there is an abundance of parking available free of charge at the Trafford Centre so make sure you’re parked as close to the giant circus tent or the giant wheel as possible so you don’t have to walk too far in this chilly weather.

Wrap up warm as during our visit the temperature hit minus 5 in the evening and I was still surprised that some of the rides were operating in such cool temperatures!

Tinsel Town seems much smaller than last year but has the same line-up with a ghost train, spinning mouse roller coaster, kids flats, a fun house and a covered ice skating ring.

Tickets cost £2.80 in advance to book your time slot but once inside you are allowed to buy tokens for the individual attractions. Tokens cost £1 each and most rides were between 3 and 5 tokens which I thought was rather expensive considering usual funfair events cost £15 or similar for unlimited riding or £1-£3 for standard rides without the unlimited riding option,.

For a small family, those costs will certainly add up.

There is also a food and bar zone with big screens erected showing the FIFA World Cup for free, tickets are not needed for this area which is great for footie fans who want to brave the cold to watch a game!

Ice skating prices start from £10.80 and a giant wheel just outside of Tinsel Town isn’t included in the event token price and has its own pay machine costing £8.

The wheel is 50m tall and is currently the tallest funfair wheel here in the UK so if you’re feeling brave hop on board and take in the wonderful views of Tinsel Town and The Trafford Centre which at night both look equally beautiful.

Tinsel Town 2022

Tinsel Town seemed smaller this year and for the 30 or so people in the area that were braving the minus temperatures, it was dead.

The big top returns once again to The Trafford Centre in 2022 with a brand new indoor ice show, the tent is heated and with prices starting at £10 to see a full ice/circus style show it’s well worth getting yourselves in there and enjoying a rather spectacular show.
