Friargate Foundry at Doncaster Fear Factory REVIEW

BRAND NEW for 2024 is Friargate Foundry at Doncaster Fear Factory and it’s a maze that perfectly matches the event name as you navigate a fear factory.

Friargate Foundary Doncaster Fear Factory

Here is the synopsis for Friargate Foundry as found on the Doncaster Fear Factory official website:

He’s always been there, hidden, watching, observing, documenting your scare level, the volume of your screams, manufacturing the scenarios you fear the most. From the very beginning in the days of Deranged, inside Bunker 13, and the House that Drew Breath, he was there, forever locked in his own battle of trying to outdo himself year after year to ramp up the terror.

You believed these rooms you walk through each and every Halloween were created by the venue or park you visited but you were wrong, so very wrong! Each room, each maze, each themed attraction was born from the sick and twisted mind of The Operator. He designed visions of hell for you to experience and now the time has come to step inside and live your worse terror once again and discover what is still yet to come.

The nightmares you’ve faced before, the nightmares you will face today and the nightmares you are still yet to face await you. Past, present, future, they are here inside the factory, colliding in a sonic boom of horror that will leave you with nowhere to turn and nowhere to run

Maze Theming

The building has existed for as long as anyone can remember, standing alone in the woods, occasionally stumbled upon by the unsuspecting hiker. Its origins are lost to time but we know it sprung into life in 1992. What was born inside that factory was brought to life in Scotland. From there rooms were invented for Blackpool in 1998. The foundry billowed smoke as the Operator conjured up nightmarish visions for Staffordshire and Staines in 2002 and, well, the rest is history. The ball was rolling and manufacturing horror for the masses became the norm each and every October.

The Operator was forever creating, seeing you scream but you never seeing him, finding out what makes you scared and building new versions of terror each and every year.

Step inside and travel in time to the past, to the future, to the edge of sanity itself. It’s 5 years of fear at Doncaster Fear Factory and you ain’t ever seen anything like this before. The operator awaits you, Friargate Foundry is open, he is in there and he knows what you fear the most!

Friargate Scare Maze

That’s quite long-winded if I do say so myself!

As you step through Friargate Factory you are facing a variety of fears in a variety of themed rooms based around different genres. From clinical to clowns and prison each room has a different setting in store for you to experience.

Friargate Foundry is beautifully themed and is immediately the best-themed experience at Doncaster Fear Factory by a considerable margin, it’s a beautifully constructed maze and complete with intense actors it makes for a memorable experience.

Maze Intro

Each room explores a new fear and you will be tested as you progress through aside from the very strange pre-show which feels like it was plucked straight out of a Saw movie the rest of the maze feels more unique and creative instead of riffing off other mainstream ideas/character arcs.

Friargate Foundry is a wonderful addition to Doncaster Fear Factory and is worth the visit for this maze alone not to mention the other favourites around the park and if you’re a Doncaster Fear Factory regular then 2024 is the last year to experience The Chasm scare maze, so get yourselves down to check it out before it’s gone forever!
