Situated next to the Monkey Forest in Trentham, Staffordshire is this quirky and challenging treetop assault course. Here’s our Trentham Treetop Adventures review.
Jump straight into the heart of the woods with this unique high rope challenge.
The course consists of 20 obstacles to get your adrenaline rushing, your heart racing and in my case my entire body entering shutdown!
I must stress, this course is NOT for those who are a little out of shape.
After a long lockdown and admittedly a life stuck behind a computer screen writing content for a living my fitness levels are about as low as the local limbo club bar.
With a comfortable harness attached I set about on my first obstacle, a simple log between two trees and after getting a little cocky with how easy it was I jumped head first into the second obstacle at a rushed pace.
Big Mistake.

Instantly I tackled the obstacle wrong and had to lift my body weight up to get back on the rope and maintain my balance. At this very stage on obstacle two (yes two) of twenty I had expended a lot of energy on one obstacle.
Your safety rope easily supports your weight throughout the course and many times throughout the course the safety rope helps considerably to stabilise your balance as you jump across rope bridges or traversing over a single piece of rope swinging in the August air.
After hitting the midway part of the course, my whole body gave up on me and I was left dangling in the air for a good 5 minutes trying to catch my breath!
I repeat once more. This course is NOT for those who are out of shape.
Some folks may fly through this course but if you’re scared of heights and get tired quickly you can be sure that this course is going to go from an intermediate course to an expert course within seconds.

Staff member Dawn helped us throughout the course and from start to finish she was bubbly, helpful and a joy to be around.
We completed the course in under an hour and we were told it can take up to two hours as at various points throughout the course you will be standing on a ledge waiting for others in front of you to complete the obstacle.
Thankfully when we went it was rather quiet which I couldn’t be more thankful for as I had chance to hang by my bodyweight in the trees trying to catch my breath. If someone was behind me they would have had to wait as my body certainly wasn’t moving at any rapid pace.
At the end of the course you’re greeted with a 50 Foot plunge off a tower which will put the fear into some of the bravest hearts.
For me, it was the quickest way to get to the ground and off to the shops to get a much-needed drink so without hesitation I jumped off and the landing perfectly summed up my gruelling experience as my legs gave way and I flopped to the ground.
A great way to kill a few hours and at a very affordable £20 it’s well worth a go if you’re feeling fit enough!
