Dämonen Gruft Opening March 29 at Heide Park Resort

Heide Park today sent us over some information regarding their brand new dark ride labelled as ‘Germany’s scariest’ ahead of its grand opening on March 29th.

Northern Germany’s largest amusement park will open its doors to young and old adventurers on 23 March 2024.

Almost 40 attractions and shows await guests after a five-month winter break but there’s one new one for guests to experience in 2024 as Heide Park has themselves a new horror-themed ride.

The “Dämonen Gruft” – Germany’s scariest Dark Ride invites all brave adventurers from the age of 8 years accompanied and 12 years unaccompanied from 29 March to discover the ancient catacombs of Heide Park. Exactly 10 years ago, Germany’s first wing coaster, the “Flight of the Demons”, was opened on this day.

Now the trailer for Dämonen Gruft certainly came across as a ride that would be for guests older than 8 years old so that surprised me reading that this morning, check it out below and let me know what you think!

The trailer scared me let alone an 8-year-old!

After a construction period of about 15 months, a Dark Ride by the Italian manufacturer Preston and Barbieri was created in the former station building of a white-water ride.

The journey time in the carriages, each with 4 seats, is about 3 minutes.

The company Alter Face Europe from Belgium is responsible for the sounds and effects.

This attraction is not for the faint of heart, because: sacrifices have to be made!

Other additions at Heide Park Resort this year consist of the return of the following shows:

  • Time – An artistic journey through time
  • Smile – It’s magic – a not entirely serious magic show

Both shows run alternately on the pirate stage, the length is about 20 minutes.

In addition, the indoor attraction “Mission Seabed” will be open on weekends and holidays.
