Alton Towers has begun Nemesis Reborn testing ahead of its March opening date.
Footage posted by Alton Towers Resort yesterday showed Nemesis in its fully revamped glory roaring (yes roaring) around the tracks as the sand that has been used to fill the rails to reduce noise doesn’t seem to have affected the coaster’s iconic roar all that much!
The ride was testing with dummies sporting its new black track with red vein detailing along with seeing the trains test for the first time with a little glimpse of those red and black wheel hub covers.

Testing on a cold winter’s day is the first time the ride has been able to operate with testing initially delayed due to the very low temperatures the UK has been experiencing these last few days.
Seeing it take its first lap around its brand-new track was a sight to behold in this incredible piece of footage from the park.
We were also kindly sent some aerial footage which shows Nemmy testing from a whole new angle, you can check out that footage in the video we posted about the testing at the bottom of this article.

As you can see in that particular shot there is still a lot of work left to do on the station and the iconic Nemesis tail is still sitting in the car park ready to be added. There’s plenty of work left to do in the surrounding areas but with delays behind the scenes, I imagine that all focus is now on the coaster and less on the area so that the ride is ready for as close to opening date as possible.
Coming Soon were the words listed on the new testing footage for the ride which leads me to believe that even Towers aren’t exactly sure of a March 16th opening date just yet but you never know, there could be another trailer on the way which announces its opening day date.

Nemesis was closed back in November 2022 and after a track and support replacement, the ride has seen a new colour scheme, station and backstory to support its rebirth.
The layout of the ride hasn’t changed but the structure has been reinforced in certain places where years of track fatigue have taken its toll.
What we can see in the trailer is that as of this moment in time no red waterfalls are accompanying the ride’s rebirth, something fans have wanted since the refurbishment was announced.

Blood-red waterfalls were removed from Nemesis after environmental concerns many years ago but times have changed and there are other ways to simulate blood-red waterfalls should they wish to have them. Maybe a nighttime light effect or similar?
We’re still yet to see the ride test at nighttime so that will be a unique and quite special experience indeed to see all the lighting of the track and train for upcoming evening events at Alton Towers.
Nemesis Reborn will open at Alton Towers Resort on March 16th
Check out the Nemesis Reborn testing video below which includes the exclusive aerial footage that we were sent.
