Qiddiya Six Flags

Today more details of the Qiddiya city megaproject were revealed that stretches far beyond just a Six Flags theme park and a water park.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman revealed the urban plan and global branding for Qiddiya City which will be a massive entertainment project located on the outskirts of Riyadh.

Very similar to Yas Island at Abu Dhabi but on a much grander scale The crown price chairs the board of directors of the Qiddiya Investment Company as he outlines his plans for the city to quickly establish itself as a global destination for entertainment, sports and culture.

The plans outlaid look to benefit the Kingdom by helping to boost its economic growth, international standing and strategic position and the plans themselves, are nothing short of incredible.

Work is absolutely flying on Qiddiya Six Flags and the adjacent water park with the water park itself currently at 61% completion and the entire theme park at 59% completion on track to open late 2024.

This incredible project goes far beyond entertainment spaces as they look to build an entire city focused around the idea of play, the ultimate escapism filled with numerous attractions, hotels, restaurants and even places for people to live.

Falcon's Flight Construction

Saudi Vision 2030 is a project to help develop and diversify the Kingdon’s economy reducing the country’s reliance on oil revenues whilst at the same time creating thousands of job opportunities for Saudi youth, Qiddiya is a cornerstone of this entire project.

Qiddiya is estimated to cost $2.7 billion with construction projects beginning back in 2019, it’s only this year we have seen the rollercoasters shooting up at a breathtaking speed including the brand new Falcon’s Flight coaster by Intamin soon to be the longest, fastest and tallest coaster in the entire world.

After much research into the concept of ‘play’ and how playing and enjoying ourselves is key to cognitive development, emotional expression, social skills, creativity and physical healthy the idea of Qiddiya came to be.

This one of a kind destination that promises to provide endless fun and excitement for residents through a variety of activities.

From a theme park to sports stadiums and an F1 track, not mention urban living as the plan is set to include 600,000 residents and 60,000 buildings in the city expecting to create more than 325,000 jobs.

Qiddiya Construction

Qiddiya City is expected to attract 48 million visitors annual and is located just 40 minutes from the centre of Riyadh.

Attractions will include a gaming and esports district, a motorsports racetrack,  a water park, a golf course (which has already been completed) and the Six Flags Qiddiya theme park.
