Voltron Europa Park Review – Europe’s Best Rollercoaster

Voltron Nevera

Voltron officially opened on April 26th within a beautiful new Croatian-themed area of Europa Park and so here’s our Voltron Europa Park review.

The innovative multi-launch coaster from MACK Rides offers an incomparable overall package of thrills, atmosphere and technology and sets new standards: Europa-Park’s 14th rollercoaster has four catapult-like accelerations up to 90 kilometres per hour, one of which travels backwards. Just some of what passengers aged 8 and over and 1.30 metres tall can look forward to are seven overhead elements, 2.2 seconds of weightlessness and the steepest launch in the world at 105 degrees

The 1,385-metre-long Multi Launch Coaster winds its way through an authentic Croatian landscape with numerous new ride elements. Light limestone, ruins, pieces of wall and a variety of plants, including an 800-year-old olive tree, all come together to create a Mediterranean flair.

The story, developed by MACK Magic, runs through the attraction and themed area as a common thread, and follows scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla, who was born in what is now Croatia and who ushered in the electrical age with the help of the legendary Adventure Club of Europe.

Mack Family Voltron Opening

Europa-Park owner Roland Mack is enthusiastic, saying:

“Voltron Nevera offers an intense and incomparable ride experience that is unique worldwide. We look forward to our many national and international visitors experiencing our new rollercoaster this year, together with their families and friends.”

Michael Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park and CEO of MACK One says:

“With Voltron Nevera, our visitors can now experience one of the most spectacular rollercoasters from MACK Rides. A fascinating story world with a unique theme has been created through concentrated power of the MACK One.

At the same time, with Croatia we are offering the 17th European themed area, which is particularly authentic thanks to the roots and personal commitment of my wife Miriam.”

So what is it like to ride?

Voltron’s quilted leather-styled seats are comfortable and the restraint system is sturdy and supportive, the pre-show is mind-blowing as you ride and bounce through a wave of electricity before being catapulted through the steepest launch in the world at 105 degrees.

The intensity of the ride is quite apparent throughout with a turntable section mid-ride acting as a rest bite for those who really need it ahead of the even more intense second half of the layout.

Theming and ride experience combine perfectly making Voltron one of the best overall experiences in the world.

Voltron has sealed itself as not only the longest coaster in Europe (1385m) but one of (if not the) best rollercoasters in Europe too!
